12th Annual Celebration of Whooping Cranes
Port Aransas, Texas is hosting the 12th Annual Celebration of Whooping Cranes and other birds this coming February 22-24th, 2008. I remember when the numbers of Whooping Cranes had dropped to an alarmingly low number. The Post Office issued a very nice Whooping Crane stamp. Fortunately many people got involved to save these beautiful birds from extinction and the number of cranes has been slowly increasing.
