bird watching guides
Bird watching trips are always exciting but some times its hard to find the good spots unless your are familiar with the area. We recommend taking the time and money to invest in a bird watching guide for part of the trip.

Usually birding guides will almost guarantee an exciting outing. Most bird guides we have found offer reasonable prices and a couple just ask for lunch and they'll be happy to show you the exciting areas in their area. Plus it’s always nice to meet fellow birders away from home.

WHERE TO WATCH BIRDS & BIRDING GUIDES

Birdwatching Aficionados - Australia
Specializing in customised birdwatching tours and operateing exclusively on request. There are no standard tours or regular schedules. We only take one booking at a time with a maximum of 4 people. This means you will be the only customers on the tour and my attention is focused on your pleasure.

The areas I visit include:

  • the Kimberley in the North of Western Australia,
  • the South-West corner of Western Australia, in particular Perth - Albany,
  • the Kakadu National Park and the area around Darwin in the Northern Territory,
  • far north-east Queensland and the Iron Range National Park / Cape York Peninsula,
  • the interior of Australia with Ayer's Rock, Birdsville and Strzelecki Tracks, etc.,
  • and South East Australia, in particular Melbourne - Sydney, and Tasmania.

We conduct special trips into the remote Outback, particularly the many deserts, or criss-cross through Australia in search of the ten endemic Grasswren species. If there are particular birds you want to see just let me know. We would be pleased to work out a unique tour for you.

Bird Watching in California - NatureTrip.com
Explore the magnificent coasts, rich marshlands, deltas, majestic mountains, great rivers & surprising deserts of California in search of birds, wildlife & spectacular scenery. Nature Trip offers year around adventures focusing on the over 500 species of birds & over 200 species of marine & land mammals that reside in or visit the Golden State. Grab the opportunity to see & experience California's wildlife!

The San Francisco Bay Area enjoys a temperate, marine climate with relatively mild weather all year. Temperatures above 80F (27C) or below 40F (5C) are infrequent. In the summer, fog rolls in during late afternoon and tends to burn off mid-morning. The warmest months are typically in the late summer or early fall. Rain falls primarily November through April with average precipitation, varying greatly by location, between 15 and 32 inches. In the Bay Area alone, there are literally hundreds of micro-climates within a vast variety of habitats including coastal scrub and chaparral, foothill oak woodlands, coastal dunes, moist, fog dependant redwood and coniferous forest.

Netherlands Guided Trips
Paradoxically no place in Europe gives you such an overwhelming experience of wilderness as do the marshes in the polders at the very heart of the Netherlands. In the late sixties Zuid Flevoland fell dry, yielding thousands of acres fertile land. In the north-eastern corner of the polder however something unexpected happened: in a few years time a unique eco-system developed which gave room for thousands of wild birds (Blue-throat, Spoonbill, Marsh- Hen- and Montagu’s Harrier, Avocet, White-tailed Eagle) and over a thousand big mammals like Deer, Konik (wild horse) and wild cow. A hundred different species of bird is not exceptional in spring! http://www.globalxs.nl/home/m/markui/trips.htm
